Annual Report for Ringshall Parish Council – May 2025

Introduction
Since our report in 2024 we have celebrated our thirtieth birthday, on 22nd. October 2024.
During the last thirty years much work has been carried out to ensure that hall is in good
condition, well maintained and is modern and up to date. The committee members
throughout the years are to be commended for their hard work.
Ringshall Village Hall is an asset for the use of residents of the parish and for the wider
community and the management committee endeavour to maximise the use of the hall and accordingly host regular hirers and private hire events. In addition the committee organise various events throughout the year.

Our Clubs and Hirers
This includes the Line Dancing Club, Table Tennis Club, Art Club, Dog Training Club,
Craft Club and Pilates classes.
We also have repeat bookings on an ad hoc basis from various organisations.
The regular hirers provide us with a relatively stable income and their support is
invaluable.
The playing field was, last season, used by Needham Phoenix junior teams for their Sunday home matches. As a bonus their contractor prepared and maintained the pitch, including mowing it fortnightly. We look forward to hosting them for the next season.

The Committee
Over the course of the last twelve months there have been various role changes on the
committee, members have left and new members have joined.
We now have a committee whose members have a diverse range of skills and experience.
This, we consider, will allow us better to serve the community.

Brian Robertson – Joint Chairperson
Liz Hitchcock – Joint Chairperson
Angie Rogers – Treasurer
Helen Nunn – Secretary
Harriet Atherton – Booking Clerk
Julie Smith
Amanda Jones
Abi Smith
Debbie Jarrold

Finances and Banking
Our reserves remain healthy due to a combination of undertaking fundraising activities to
boost funds, purchasing items needed for the Hall competitively and running the bar to
increase our income.
In order to maximise use of our reserves we have moved £25,000.00 of our funds into an
interest paying account.

Volunteering
The continuing success of the hall is due to the efforts of all those who give of their
time voluntarily. This includes members of the committee together with other residents of the
village.
We extend our thanks to all of them for their time, effort and support.

Events
Since our last report to the parish council we have arranged and organised a number of
events, including some in the forthcoming months.
June 24 – D day commemoration.
June 24 – 30th. Birthday celebration.
Jun 24 – Farmers market and classic vehicle show.
November 24 – Christmas Fayre
December 24 – Christmas wreath making class.
Future events include
Free estate planning community talk.
Farmers market and classic car show.
Christmas fair

Future Proofing and miscellaneous
We have continued to invest in the hall to ensure that it is well maintained with up to date equipment and facilities.
The clothing bank, installed for a trial period last year, has been successful and remains on
the car park.
The bottle banks and clothing bank were recently repositioned to the north east corner of the car park placing them in a direct line of sight of the CCTV cameras. For many months we have been plagued by a serial fly tipper and the move was partly an endeavour to thwart their activities. Within just a few days of the move we captured video of the perpetrator. Needless to say he made off at speed when he was spotted by a resident taking dogs for an early morning walk.
